CONEJO INTERFAITH REFUGEE TEAM

HELPING REFUGEES WHEREVER THE NEED IS

ABOUT US

The Conejo Interfaith Welcome Team is a local coalition of interfaith and secular groups and individuals helping refugees wherever the need is from all over the world. We work collaboratively with local refugee case management agencies to support families and to fill in the gaps with various needs. We network and organize assistance for refugee families in our area. All are welcome to join our efforts.
Refugees have many countries, many ages, but have the same need for kindness.

Over the years, we have assisted more than 26 families from south and central America, India, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Republic of Congo, and are beginning to help Ukrainians and Western Russians fleeing war.

WELCOME BASKETS

"You and the team did this – you gave a family peace of mind that has not been present in their lives since before the entire war started.
This is a huge game changer for them, it creates a platform of peace, quiet, stability and safety from which they can launch
and work towards building a new life together. This is just huge and I know they and I are so very grateful." - Regina U.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Almost all the world’s great religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hindu, Sikh, Native American, Bhai, and Secular Humanists) encourage us to love our neighbor as ourselves, asking of us “ Who Is Our Neighbor." We share the value of "Welcoming the Stranger” among us. Or another way of saying this is welcoming those who are different from us. Most of us, regardless of our faith, believe in the common good, and the Golden Rule “doing onto others as you would have others do for you." This beautiful teaching invites humans to treat one another the way we want to be treated.
